Facility Description:
This is a fully integrated health care organization employing over 50 physicians and midlevel providers. There are two hospital campuses and three multi-specialty clinics which offer a full range of service to Gallup and the surrounding area. is an integrated delivery system providing care for Northwestern New Mexico and Eastern Arizona. We are proud to continue a history of healthcare dating back to the early 1900s. As a private, not-for-profit healthcare system, we are committed to improving the health and wellness of our community and the individuals for whom we care. The facility consists of a 69-bed, full-service, JCAHO accredited acute care hospital; three outpatient clinics; hospice/home health and behavioral health services.
Position Description:
Director of health information management directs and administers operational, strategic, fiscal and personnel activities of the Health information Management Department including Coding and Transcription functions to provide timely and quality services to Administration, medical staff, patients, families and organizations according with standards established by the medical staff, Joint Commission, state and federal regulatory agencies. Services as the Privacy Officer. Required Bachelors Degree in Health Information Management . Relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for one another in accordance with policy. A minimum of three years supervisory/management experience in Health Information management. prior work experience. Relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for one another in accordance to policy. Requires broad knowledge of health care industry, insurance industry, and regulatory standards. hands on management style that can lead, develop and motivate staff in both the hospital and clinic settings. Ability to recommend and participate in system and process development inside and outside of the HIM Department. proficiency in PC knowledge, computerized health information systems (Meditech), software applications and hardware a must. Must be able to interact effectively. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to prepare technical reports
Experience Required: Required Bachelors Degree in Health Information Management . Relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for one another in accordance with policy.
